The characters in Charged often have a hint of traditional comic book flare but powers which aren't immediately obvious as a fighting aid appeal to this setting more. Sometimes an obvious combat aid can be turned into a super-life-skill and that is interesting. Since combat is not commonplace in the Charged setting, powers and people who are interesting outside of fighting are more important that who is the strongest. The most important part to making the powers feel real is to visualize how a regular person would actually react and that means thinking a long time about how the power would useful in day to day life.

A new character was created for the Charged universe who can remote view. This is not a new skill nor is it particularly original. It is familiar so if the character is introduced to the story she will not need explanation. The twist is that this character views things after they happen in proportion to the distance from her. If she wants to remote view in the same room there would be no delay. She could easily peak at someones' hand if they were playing cards with her. If she wanted to view from an apartment across the street the delay would be less than a minute. A house across town would be delayed by the time equivalent of her sprinting to that house. Viewing across the word would be delay by over a day.

This power is not as useful as the typical idea of remote viewing but it carries a certain appeal because it has room for improvement and as she gets more powerful the delay decreases. This is an incentive for her to work at her power and grow. She will not be affiliated with the Charged Minds group who are omniscient.

To do:
  • Add remote viewer to cast of characters
  • Show how Shana knew Motor and Heather were a new couple.
  • Reduce overuse of the word "power."
  • Create a cheat sheet for the characters and their abilities.
  • Describe a reality TV show which demonstrates the powers of contestants.
  • Describe a trial where a Charged person sues for the right to have a second identity but the case turns against him into a vilification of vigilanteism.
