2014-10-19 (Su) tDCS Unit

Sketches were made of each module and included 1/8" (3.5mm) sockets for connecting the battery enclosure unit via a male-male 3.5mm cord and the 3.5mm electrode wires.

The first unit was a simple monetary switch which cuts power when the user released the switch. This ensures the user will not forget the turn off the unit but was designed so the user can fall asleep without leaving the unit active. It may be possible to reviser she electrodes and "quiet the brain" so the user can sleep even he or she has a lot on his or her mind.

The milliammeter module allows the user to monitor amperage levels during use and could possibly help with placement and knowing when electrodes are conducting well. This module would work well in conjunction with the adjustable current module.

The adjustable current module allows the user to lower the amperage from the 2mA of the stock unit down to 0.4mA. The 20K Ohm potentiometer would be accessible from the outside of the enclosure and have markings to show where each amperage setting is according to rotation. This module would work well in conjunction with the milliammeter module

The timer module used an externally powered timer to shut off the unit after a preprogrammed amount of time. This is similar in purpose to the switch module but also allows the user to concentrate on other tasks without having to worry about when to shut off the tDCS power.

These devices can be used individually or attached in series with a 3.5mm male-male cord. They can be constructed from metal enclosures which provide another path for the phone sleeve conductor.
